This week was our 13 Wedding Anniversary! AJ took Rosie and I out for a meal to celebrate – I left the greasy pizzas and sugary ice-cream factory to the others, and piled up my bowl at the salad bar! It was delicious, and just what my body wanted. Up till now I have been craving salty, savoury food and fresh veg and fruit – very unusual for me as I normally have a very sweet tooth.
This week I started a daily, gentle exercise routine. After waking, before having a drink or anything to eat, I do the following modified yoga stretches: Sun Greeting, Cat, Child’s Pose, Squatting, Tailor Position / Butterfly. I combine these with pelvic floor exercises – if you can tense the pelvic floor muscles whilst in such an open position as squatting, you muscles must be strong!
As we move into the second trimester, the placenta is now fully developed and continues to nourish the fetus and produce hormones. The fetus is practicing swallowing actions, and occasionally drinks some amniotic fluid, which his kidneys process as urine which is passed back into the amniotic sac.
