Had my last ante-natal appointment with the community midwife at my doctors’ surgery. I told Lou that I have been accepted by the Birth Centre, and that I will be having my ante-natals there from now on. Heard baby’s heartbeat – everything is fine, baby is growing well, lying in the head-down position this week.
I am still going swimming twice a week, and trying to build up to 30 lengths in half an hour. Because of the size of our local pool, if I can manage 32 lengths that will be the equivalent to swimming for half a mile!
Space is starting to get limited in the uterus – the fetus will be lying with his arms crossed and legs drawn up towards his chest. Movements will start to change soon, as space gets even tighter the baby will settle down more. He will still move around a bit, changing position, but will more than likely start to settle into a head down position within the next few weeks, ready for birth.
